A short history of Dingocroft
Dingocroft is the trading name of Penn Rental Service Ltd. P.R.S. was formed some time in the late 60s and became a Limited Company in 1974.
The main business was the hire of caravans and other wheeled units to the construction industry. We used Land Rovers to tow these units to and from site. At its peak the hire fleet numbered in excess of 400 units and the towing fleet was 7 Land Rovers and a Range Rover.
The company ran its own workshops to maintain and repair both the hire fleet and the Land Rovers. All manner of repairs were carried out in house including full rebuilds to the tow vehicles.
Sometime in the early 80s a company called Dingocroft introduced itself to us. It supplied Land Rover parts and offered what was then a novel service, free delivery! This was the start of a good business relationship that flourished.

In 1984 we were approached by the owner of Dingocroft, he was looking to sell. As it happened we were looking to find another string to the corporate bow, so early in1985 Dingocroft became part of Penn Rental Service Ltd.
